// MCP SERVER

The social media MCP server that reports back in dollars.

planpo.st exposes its whole product as MCP tools: 45 of them, covering scheduling to seven networks, media generation, approvals, analytics and revenue. Connect any agent and it can do what the dashboard does.

The difference from every other social MCP server is the last step. Posts carry tracked links, payments from Stripe, Shopify or RevenueCat match back to the post that caused them, and the agent can read the result. Your agent posts, then tells you what the post earned.

Two ways to connect

Hosted, nothing to install

Streamable HTTP at mcp.planpo.st. Works from every client that takes a URL, including ChatGPT.

claude mcp add --transport http planpost https://mcp.planpo.st/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer pk_live_xxx"

Local, key stays on your machine

stdio over npx, Node 18+. The package is planpost-mcp on npm.

PLANPOST_API_KEY=pk_live_xxx npx -y planpost-mcp

What the 45 tools cover

Posts and publishing

Draft, schedule, bulk-create, preview per platform, publish now or at the best time.

Media and creative

Upload media, generate images and carousels, render video from templates.

Revenue and analytics

The part the other MCP servers do not have: attributed revenue per post.

get_revenue_overviewget_analytics

Accounts and groups

List connections, group accounts per brand or client, address a group in one call.

Approvals and brand voice

Route drafts through human sign-off and keep the agent writing in your voice.

Content sources

Point at a blog or feed, pull content in, repurpose it into platform-shaped posts.

Tool names above are the real ones; a few list and delete variants are omitted for space. Your API key's scopes decide which tools an agent actually gets.

A session, end to end

Plan next week from content-plan.md: three posts each on LinkedIn and Threads, best times, drafts only. Then tell me what last week's posts earned.

The agent reads your plan, calls get_best_times, books six drafts with create_post, then calls get_revenue_overview and answers the second question with attributed amounts per post. You approve the drafts in the dashboard, or ask the agent to walk you through them. That is the whole loop: plan, publish, prove.

Every MCP client works. These have their own guides.

Claude Code

Anthropic

Claude Code runs your social calendar now.

Cursor

Anysphere

Ship the feature, then let Cursor post about it.

Claude Desktop

Anthropic

Plan your week in a conversation with Claude.

ChatGPT

OpenAI

ChatGPT can post. Ours also tells you what it earned.

Gemini CLI

Google

Your terminal, Google's agent, your social calendar.

Codex CLI

OpenAI

Codex writes the code. It can write the announcement too.

Google Antigravity

Google

Antigravity manages agents. Give one of them your calendar.

Hermes Agent

Nous Research

Message your agent. It schedules the week.

Using something not listed?

The server is standard MCP, so VS Code + GitHub Copilot, Cline, Windsurf, Goose, Warp, n8n, Zed, Continue, Roo Code, LibreChat and the long tail of clients all connect with the generic config. If it speaks MCP over stdio or streamable HTTP, it works. The generic setup guide covers any of them in a minute.

What your agent can reach once connected

Seven networks

The agent schedules to every channel the dashboard can, native formats included.

ThreadsLinkedInInstagramX (Twitter)FacebookYouTubeTikTok

Your payment data

Revenue tools read attributed payments from the sources you connect, so the agent reports in dollars.

StripeShopifyRevenueCat

The whole loop

Post, track, attribute, learn: how the pieces fit is its own page.

Questions people ask

What is a social media MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI agents use to call external tools. A social media MCP server exposes posting and scheduling as tools, so an agent like Claude or Cursor can manage your calendar by calling them instead of you clicking through a dashboard.
What makes this one different from other social media MCP servers?
Several schedulers ship MCP servers now. This one closes the loop: alongside scheduling tools it exposes get_revenue_overview, which returns attributed revenue per post from your Stripe, Shopify or RevenueCat data. The agent that publishes a post can read back what the post earned. To our knowledge nobody else in the category can say that.
Which agents and apps work with it?
Anything that speaks MCP: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex CLI, Google Antigravity, Hermes and the long tail of clients. It is a standard MCP implementation over stdio and streamable HTTP.
Hosted or local, which should I use?
Hosted (mcp.planpo.st) means nothing to install and works from clients that only take URLs, like ChatGPT. Local (npx -y planpost-mcp) keeps your API key on your machine. Same tools either way.
Can the agent publish without a human seeing the post?
Only if you set it up that way. Posts can be drafts, scheduled or approval-gated, and submit_for_approval means nothing publishes until someone signs off. Autonomy is a dial, not a default.
What does it cost?
The MCP server is included with any paid plan, $19.99 a month and up. Revenue attribution is a Pro feature at $39.99. The server package itself is on npm as planpost-mcp.
