SOCIAL MEDIA REVENUE ATTRIBUTION

Know which post made the sale.

Every scheduler shows you likes. planpo.st puts a revenue number next to each post, matched from your own Stripe, Shopify or RevenueCat payments, so the question "is social working" gets an answer in dollars.

Tracked links, invisible to readers

Any link in a scheduled post becomes a tracked redirect. The audience sees a normal link; you see which post every click came from.

Payments matched, not guessed

Payment events from your own providers match to clicks directly, or through a 30-day last-click window. What cannot be matched stays unattributed, on purpose.

Next week planned from revenue

When each post carries a number, the content calendar stops running on instinct. You repeat what earned.

How it works

From scheduled post to attributed payment

The whole pipeline ships in the product: the scheduler, the link redirector, the payment webhooks and the matching. Nothing to stitch together, no spreadsheet at the end.

1

Connect a payment source

Stripe with a read-only restricted key, Shopify over OAuth, or RevenueCat. Payments start flowing in as events.

2

Schedule posts with tracked links

Any link in any post can be a tracked redirect. Nothing about the post looks different to your audience.

3

Clicks get recorded per post

Each click knows which post, platform and campaign it came from.

4

Payments match back to clicks

Direct click match first, a 30-day last-click window second, honestly unattributed third. No guessing dressed up as data.

5

The calendar learns

Revenue sits next to each post. Next week gets planned from what earned, not what got likes.

Why engagement metrics kept lying to you

I ran social for my own products for years without being able to answer one question: which posts made money. Likes went up, revenue did whatever it did, and the connection between them was a feeling, not a number.

The industry answer is a UTM spreadsheet, and every guide ends there, because the tools that schedule posts cannot see payments and the tools that see payments cannot post. planpo.st does both jobs, which is the only reason the attribution can be automatic.

One honest caveat: attribution is a floor, not a ceiling. A reader can see your post, buy nothing, then search your name a week later and pay. No tool sees that path. The floor still beats the alternative, which is not knowing anything at all.

Turn social reports into revenue conversations.

Scheduling, tracked links and payment matching in one product. Connect Stripe, Shopify or RevenueCat and every campaign leaves a money trail.

Frequently asked questions

What is social media revenue attribution?

Connecting posts to money. Instead of stopping at likes and reach, attribution follows the path from a post to a click to a payment, so you can say which posts, campaigns and channels produced revenue.

How does planpo.st attribute a payment to a post?

Every link you schedule can be a tracked redirect. A click through it is recorded, and when a payment arrives from Stripe, Shopify or RevenueCat, it is matched to that click first. If there is no direct click match, a 30-day window matches the payment to the last recorded click from the same visitor. Anything that cannot be matched is logged as unattributed rather than guessed.

Do I need UTM links to track social media revenue?

UTMs help your analytics tools, and planpo.st adds them if you want, but the attribution itself runs on tracked redirects, which survive the places UTMs get stripped and work even when the buyer converts days after the click.

Which payment platforms are supported?

Stripe (connected with a read-only restricted API key), Shopify (connected over OAuth, with a webhook on paid orders) and RevenueCat for app subscriptions. Each sends payment events that get matched against your tracked clicks.

Is the revenue number exact?

It is honest, which matters more. Direct click matches are marked high confidence, time-window matches medium, and payments that cannot be tied to a post stay unattributed instead of being smeared across your calendar. Some channels understate by nature: an Instagram post can drive a sale through search, and no tool can see that path.

Can agencies use revenue attribution in client reports?

Yes, and it changes the report. Activity summaries become revenue statements: these posts went out, these produced sales, this is what the channel earned. That is a different renewal conversation.

Can my AI agent read the revenue data?

Yes. The same MCP server that lets Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT schedule posts also exposes revenue tools, so the agent that published a post can report back what it earned.

Which plan includes attribution?

Revenue attribution is a Pro feature at $39.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial to test it against your own traffic.
